The Carpenter by Martin Buxbaum

One day, while working with some wood, it occurred to me that Jesus was a carpenter. Why not a weaver or a musician? He could have been anything He wished and excelled at any trade. Why a worker in wood? Perhaps it is because the basic material for carpentry is wood, a material not unlike people. It is a living thing, and no two pieces of wood are alike. Each type of wood has a different property – each contains worth and beauty at the hands of a master. As Jesus shaped wood, so must He have hoped to shape men. (Brian was a master woodworker and this special story was found with his personal papers.)
